The BBC has produced a whole series discussing noise and sound throughout (human) history. Noise: A Human History is presented by David Hendy, a professor of media and communications at the University of Sussex.
I’ve listened to the first few episodes, and while the 1st episode which has musicologist Iegor Reznikoff vocalizing strange sounds, so far it’s quite interesting. If anything, it might make you listen to the sounds in your daily life with a new perspective. Have a listen and let me know which episodes you’ve found to be interesting.
Act soon – the radio clips are only available for about a year or so. Only the last few episodes are available on iTunes, but the whole series can be streamed from their website.
